WHAT'S THIS ABOUT
Creating a new Playing Regulation to allow an immediate replacement to play on in the place of any player who is forced to withdraw from a match due to a possible concussion injury.DISCUSSION
Obviously, this might involve App D Concussion Guidelines since the "If in Doubt, Sit it out" protocol is included there.
This might be a great idea but it's impractical for Subbies cricket teams.
- Often teams will not have any available players to come in as an emergency replacement. Having a rule for it would be kind of useless in many cases.
- There are provisions for Unexpected Player replacements in Two Day Cricket and Super Subs as Injury replacements in Sunday 1 dayers already available.
It would be laudable and desirable to have a rule allowing a replacement player for anyone forced out of a game by injury.
It is not necessary to have a specific provision for concussion related injuries since Reg 23.2 already allows just such a replacement. Also the Injury replacement provision of the Supersub rule on Sundays is available.
